Jetting off to London will be well worth the trip in every way and especially if you’re looking to develop your professional organizational skills attitude and confidence. It will help you a great deal to communicate with others at work and would be an excellent way for you to improve your English Language skills. Hence, this will open up massive opportunities to work in European countries including England, America and Australia. We interviewed a total of six Indian Torux Software Pvt Ltd employees who visited London. Jasvinder Sing Bhatia, a business analyst for Torux Software, expressed that, “from a professional point of view, I feel that I have improved the quickness in response and professionalism at work. From a personal point of view, I feel I can co-operate better with American and Europeans now than before.” Every person employed by the company generally found that they had acquired similar benefits whilst working in London. Vaibhav Arti a project manager/business analyst, found that in London, “people are more professional at the work place, they know their job properly and try to be in Business all the time. People are punctual. They communicate in a very specific and professional way.” All Torux Software employees had a good experience mixing with locals and working with others in London, and found people to be friendly and helpful. They also discovered many entertainment/tourist places and things to do when out and about in London. |
The top 5 things the Torux Software employees from India liked the most about London were:
The multi-cultural nature of the city
The opportunity to improve on professionalism at work and general environment within the workplace
The various festivities and lively atmosphere of London
Helpful nature of people who reside in the country’s capital
Having a great opportunity to learn about other cultures and
historical features of the city
The top 5 things they did not like about London:
Relationships between employees and companies
The stress and fast-paced life in the city
The long work hours particularly on the weekends and the pressure of work
The difficulty in adapting to the London culture and lifestyle
Difficulty
in purchasing due to high costs
Some recommendations made by the Torux Software Indian employees, before coming to London:
You should take your own from India, if you’re a vegetarian
Take enough adequate warm clothing and medicine in advance
Familiarize yourself with the maps prior to travelling in order to get to your residence in London and workplace location.
Bring enough money taking into account the higher costs and standard of living in London, and for visiting the various tourist sites of the city.

Some Indian Torux employees felt a bit estranged as part of their
experience of staying in London. “Living alone is difficult in a new
place”, one of them told us. To help alleviate this problem, there
are various ways to feel more at home in London. London is a very
multi-cultural city in itself, so there are many Indian/Asian social
and networking events and festivities frequently taking place in the
country’s capital.

If you’re a post-grad university student, there are many interesting
social clubs and societies that you can get involved with such as
the Asian society, various sports societies or whatever suits your
preferences. As London is one of the most multi-cultural and
cosmopolitan cities in the world, there are Asians everywhere you
go, usually where you work, where you study etc. Asian culture is
particularly dominant in certain areas of London including
Southall and Green street. Another name for Southall is
‘little India’. Here you will experience the colourful and lively
surroundings of the Brit-Asian culture, with all the busy roads, and
loud music pumping out from many cars and nearly every single stall
on the Broadway. You will be able to smell the thick sweet scent of
Jalebee’s in the air from Jalebee central in Southall, which are
freshly made on the streets just as they are in India. You would see
all the Asian girls cheerfully coming out of one Indian clothes
boutique to another.
London is an excellent place to explore and learn about new
cultures. For example, on Edgware road, where there is a
large population of Arabs, you would find a wide array of the exotic
Arabic and Turkish restaurants.
There are numerous tourist sites in London, including various
museums that contain many interesting exhibits from all over the
world (e.g. the British Museum). If you’re more of the daring type
and want to discover the adventurous things that London has to
offer, then the super thrills and excitement of roller-coaster rides
in theme parks like ‘Chessington’ are made for you!
Shopping would definitely be one of the things on a girl’s agenda,
and there is surely no limitation in variety here. In fact it would
be any shopaholic’s dream to visit places like Oxford Street
(one of the busiest shopping streets in the whole of Europe),
where shoppers come to from all over the globe.
There are many cheap hotel rooms to rent at reasonable, discounted
prices and rooms that people would like to share in their flat or
house. Check the following websites:

There is so much else to be experienced in London, all of which
cannot be put into the space of one article. It is highly likely
that your London experience will have a very impressionable impact
on you and encourage you to come over again and visit many times
more!
